American Youth Soccer Organization is made up of 15 sections throughout the United States and the Carribbean. AYSO Section 14 comprises the majority of the State of Florida as well as portions of Georgia and South Carolina. Section 14 is segmented into 4 areas. Area J encompasses the Florida Keys and the southernmost portion of Miami-Dade County. Area A services regions in the remainder of Miami-Dade county. Area I has regions from South Broward County through Palm Beach and Highlands County. And Area L services regions in central and northern Florida. Within each area there are regions. These regions directly provide the local communities with the various soccer programs that AYSO offers. There are currently 20 active regions within Section 14.
All regions, areas and the section are administered by volunteers who are trained in their discipline to provide all of the children with a quality, fun and safe atmosphere. Every coach and referee is a volunteer as well and they are provided with the opportunity of world class training, which enhances the experience that all of our kids deserve.
Our goal in Section 14 is to provide world class soccer programs to our participants (both youth and adult). We also want to provide an opportunity for growth for our volunteers: administrative, coaches and referees. Our volunteers attain many valuable attributes that they can utilize in their professional and personal lives. We also have a responsibility to our sponsors to assure that we provide them with an outlet to publicize their businesses within the context of an organization that is well respected, organized and a pillar of the community. And finally we have a responsiblity to give back to our community. We realize that we do not live within a vaccum and that without the community, we don’t have a program. So our section has taken on community based initiatives such as partnering up with organizations such as Feeding America and Habitat for Humanity. It is this community involvement that we are very proud of.
